Planned Giving

To help you get started on your plans and legacy, you can use FreeWill, an online tool that guides you through the process of creating a legally valid will or trust. It’s easy to use, accessible online and can be completed in 20 minutes. You can use this resource on its own, use it to document your wishes before finalizing your plans with an attorney.

Non-Probate Assets

Do you have an IRA, 401(k), life-insurance policy, or any other assets not included in your will? If so, these are called non-probate assets and you must plan your beneficiaries for them separately. Use this online tool to make your plans and designate us as a beneficiary of one or more of these assets.

DAF's, QCD's and Stocks

Options like donor-advised funds offer immediate deductions and flexible granting, while qualified charitable distributions from IRA’s provide tax-free ways to fulfill required minimum distributions. Donating appreciated stocks and mutual fund shares held for over a year allows for an income tax deduction on the fair market value and bypasses capital gains tax, maximizing your charitable impact. You can download the form and give to your financial advisor to help complete the necessary paperwork and easily donate stock to help the animals at Tails.

name and stock symbol of what you plan to transfer

The gift will be valued on the day the stock enters Tails Humane Society’s account.
