In 2010, the Humane Society of North Central Florida moved into our current building, transforming a former warehouse into a lifesaving shelter. While much of the space was remodeled to meet the needs of cats and dogs, our large dog kennel area has remained largely unchanged for more than a decade—despite housing thousands of dogs.

Today, this aging, open-air kennel space can no longer meet the demands of extreme heat and changing climate conditions. During periods of excessive heat, we are forced to relocate dogs into limited climate-controlled areas or foster homes, reducing our capacity to take in animals and support our community partners.

A full renovation is urgently needed to address climate control, plumbing, noise reduction, and safety—ensuring this space can continue to save lives for years to come.
